How to Clean Wood Blinds

Compared to the generic plastic, vinyl, or fabric blinds available at most retail chains, wood blinds are a fantastic addition to any window and provide a more complicated appearance. But when it comes to cleaning, wood blinds need special attention in contrast to other blinds. Thankfully, following the right practices may save you time cleaning your blinds and ensure that they last for the long-term.

Keeping Wooden Blinds Clean

Get a microfiber cloth or a quill duster. Avoid cleaning your blinds with unpleasant materials since you risk scratching them. To quickly remove dust from your blinds, the finest tools to use are a microfiber cloth or a light quill duster.

Close the blinds so they are flush with the window. Your blinds have an adjustable pole or pivoting drum that opens and closes them. Turn this to completely close your blinds so you can focus on one side of them.

From left to right, wipe or dust every individual support. Start wiping each bracing on your wooden blinds from left to right with your feather duster or microfiber cloth. To achieve the greatest clean, make sure to concentrate just on each brace.

To clean the opposite side, turn the blinds. To open your blinds, flip the modifying bar over so the opposite side of the bracing is facing you. Completely dust the other side of your wooden blinds by repeating the technique.

1 to 2 inches of warm water should be added to the basin. If your blinds have a lot of built-up dirt, a simple cleaning might not be enough to completely clean them. Water is required for a deeper cleaning of wood blinds. Avoid mixing any synthetic chemicals or cleansers with the water

Use a soft cotton rag or sock to contact the water with. Your wood blinds may stain and distort if they come into contact with water. Before using your material, gently touch it and wring it out to keep a safe distance from this.

Edge your wood braces so that they are almost closed. Cleaning each support will be simpler if you arrange your wooden braces to be almost closed.

Cleanse each support on your own, starting at the top. Wipe each brace with your damp towel, going from left to right. Make careful to wipe the other side as well when you have completed cleaning one side.

Use a dry towel to individually dry each support. Wooden blinds can be bent, stained, or spotty due to water. Make careful to completely wipe the water off the blinds with a dry towel to prevent this from happening.

Turn your supporters’ support around, then rehash. By turning your wooden supports over and repeating the process of washing, rinsing, and drying them, you may clean the other side of each one

Alternative Approaches

Use a sensitive vacuum connection to collect dirt and residue. Use the same method you would normally use to dust your blinds, except instead of a quill duster, use the arm attachment on your vacuum. Anything else than a sensitive brush connection while using a vacuum runs the danger of damaging your blinds. If you are vacuuming because you are running behind schedule, use this method.

To make wood blinds sparkle, use warm water and olive oil. To add even more glitter to your wood blinds, combine a quarter cup of olive oil with warm water in a basin. Use the washing method, but use your new solution in place of the warm water. If your blinds are split, avoid using olive oil. The setup could leak past the point of completion and warp your wood.

To make blinds gleam, wipe them with lemon oil or a wood preservative. Wood blinds may be safely cleaned with lemon oil or commercial wood cleaners. You can use materials from a home goods or retail chain designed specifically for wood if you’re trying to create glittering wood blinds. The oil that is released when the lemon strip is pressed is called lemon oil. It functions as a typical disinfectant. Always remember to dry wipe your wood blinds after using any cleaning.
